vintage
What a fun day it had been yesterday! Went out with Jon to visit this cool vintage toy museum, ate 'linner' (basically in-between lunch and dinner), caught the movie 'Passengers' and later went to LAN for some zombie-head-blasting action. Fun!
Let me upload some of the photos taken at the museum. Credits to Jon too, for I took the pics from his Facebook, haha!
Behind us are a display of vintage Santas. Lol! All the long white beards.
Ooh, the Beatles!
Beatles vintage collectibles that worth thousands of dollars.
To the right is my childhood toys; marbles and the super bouncy ball!
When they see me balancin', they be...
O SHI-!
Ching chong, nip gow gong!
Considered the 8th?
The Golliwogs, a reminder of racism that was blatant in the United States way back then.
Old school Mickey! Surprising that he's alone and not with Minnie; times when you enjoyed good old bachelorhood.
Felix the Cat! One of my favourite cartoons!
Read: Astroboy. First ever animu.
HOLY SHIET! ANCIENT DESU COSPLAY!
As Jon says, "The jacket he's wearing is definitely so NOT in with youngters."
Tom and Jerry! Jerry...looks kinda not boyish...
LOL I ARE IN SPASE! I IS SPASE PEEPOLE!!!11!
Well hoped the photos of the 'ancient' toys gave you nostalgia or something. The food over at the museum's restaurant is tad excellent too! Jon ordered a kinda big plate of Beer Battered Fish, complete with wedges and a leafy salad while I ordered this really good tasting, Parmesan Chicken with mashed potatoes. Drinks were Raspberry Tea for Jon while I got myself a natural fruit punch..didn't like the punch due to the excessive carroty taste. Overall was a little pricey though but the quantity they serve was generous, worth it. Atmosphere was a little awkward though, should've been more retro. 3.5/5 stars.
Later, Jon suggested that we catch Ponyo the movie (that I am so afraid of due to the Wapanese-filled cinema hall.) but alas, thank luck; Ponyo was not showing anymore. Disappointment for Jon while a small victory for me....sorry Jon, looks like we've to catch it on DVD or via the Internet, lol! Due to this, we instead caught the drama movie, 'Passengers'. Shall not give out the spoilers here but the movie does need you to do a little of thinking and then you're able to understand. I was moved so much by the 'airplane part' nearing the end of the movie, I just couldn't resist but cry a bit. Haha! Rating, 4/5 stars.
Finally after the movie, we went for some awesome zombie fragging at the LAN shop nearby. Before that, I've introduced Jon to Left4Dead while waiting for our movie to start and let him get a little hands-on action of the game. He does master quite fast of blowing up zombie heads!
Ahhh, indeed a fun-filled weekend!! Shall look forward to more outings like this!
