over the concrete and far away

Fun day again! Met up with my bestie, Derence, at Tampines Mall today as he wanted to get a pair of Charles and Keith heels for his BFF...and also that he wanted to prove her right that he "will give high heels as a gift on her birthday." Good luck with those heels, BFF of Derence!

Anyways, I suggested that perhaps we should go Raffles City Shopping Center's Charles & Keith as the store is much more bigger over there. Also, there's a professional gift wrapping store located at the basement. After much browsing and decision making, we finally settled on this pair of black heels with a zippy on the front....beautiful and then went for the gift wrap.

The gift wrap's design had the classy black and dull gold floral design accompanied with a maroon ribbon, which the salesgirl helped us to tie. The ribbon was also tied perfectly and looked cute! $16 for the entire wrapping service lol (including the wrap and ribbon). Lol! Also, it was thanks to Jon, who recommended me that giftwrap store when he wanted to get a bday gift for his date at that time. Anwyays, the store's name was called 'Prints' and their website's here.

Right after that, we headed home and it was really crowded on the subway during peak hour. After leaving my bag at my bestie's house, we went around the neighbourhood to look for training areas to do 'parkour'. Hahaha! It was difficult as we weren't wearing proper sports attire nor worked ourselves up prior to it. Tried jumping down the second level of an apartment block that my bestie managed successfully. I landed wrong and hit my arm (thank goodness its just a hard bump) and later split my pants trying to vault up a small platform. Pssh!!

Speaking of 'Parkour', Derence and I are going to go serious into this art of 'moving from point A to B efficiently, smoothly and fast by using the human body.' To admit, both of us were deeply influenced by Mirror's Edge after completing it. Of course, we aren't gonna risk our lives or die stupidly by jumping from building to building or perilous heights. Parkour ISN'T meant to be dangerous and SHOULDN'T be! What Parkour does is to allow maximum use of your human body and builds up fearlessness, strength, determination and speed. Furthermore, it gives you a really intense exercise coupled with that adrenaline rush, which is something really rare when you're living on a dull, concrete island!

So for the next few weeks, we're gonna go gyming, doing the suggested workout sessions by American Parkour (an official website for avid Parkour enthusiasts and Traceurs 'a term for experienced Parkour practitioners'). After which, we're gonna practice on our rolls, safe landings and basic moves such as vaulting and wall-climbing. But first of all, I need a pair of running shoes with good grip and shock absorbing factors (thinking of Adidas or Nike), wristbands and a comfortable pair of light cargo jeans.

The world is every Parkour practitioner's playground! Sadly, some people are abusing Parkour and ending their lives because they do not use common sense. It's really a great sport and hobby! (and also allows you to catch that darn bus on time :P)
